I had the pleasure to go on a helicopter sightseeing tour of London yesterday with the London Helicopter centre in Redhill Surrey. The trip was taken with a AS 350 Squirrel. With 140 mph top speed we reached London in just a few minutes to fly along the River Thames giving me some opportunities to make use of my camera. The weather could have been better, as most of central London was covered in mist, covering the glass of the helicopter. However I still managed to get some quite nice shots of famous locations such as Battersea Power Station, Houses of Parliament, London Eye and the City of London with its skyscrapers. I have added a few images to my galleries.

I went to the Clapham Common Fireworks Display, which started yesterday at 7.30pm. The display was really great and surprisingly was free to attend. If you go to the Battersea Park one on Saturday, then you will have to fork out £7….

Made me feel like new year!

Not sure where to go and would like a break from the hectic day to day London lifestyle, just go camping n the nearby housing estate. Pitching was free and the atmosphere amazing…

I found this little signet under careful watch of its mother in Battersea Park.

Below a collection of some of my London winter wonderland photos I took on monday. There are a few panoramas as well, but they will come separate. I would not mind a few more of these great mondays….

London in Snow

Today was definitely a very special day for me . I was extremely excited when I got up in the morning at 7am to walk to work today, as it was quite forseeable that London’s public transport will not be able to keep up with the extreme weather conditions. The atmosphere amongst the people on the streets gave today the feeling of a bank holiday or the biggest photo competition London has ever seen. Nearly everyone, including myself  was armed with a camera  to capture the rare sight of approx 25-30 cm of snow. Below is one of my photos of the music pavilion in Battersea Park. I took quite a lot of photographs, so it might take a few days to put them online,  please be patient.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2008 to everyone.

This is my first time celebrating Christmas in London.

It is quite nice and more quiet than usual, but I miss the snow.May all your wishes come true
